This month the Le Petit Ballon Wine Subscription Box was particularly exciting because we got our very own gazette feature entitled ‘Spotlight on The West Country’ . In the feature I discussed some of my favourite restaurants and hotels in Devon and South West England, including The Giant Club, Treby Arms, The Pig Hotel & Glazebrook House.
October’s theme was also really close to home, as it was The Best of British: Handpicked for You. I was really looking forward to seeing what wines they paired with this, but sadly neither of them were British makers. Having said that, I do think this has been the best month so far:
What did I get in my box?
This month the wines focussed on some of the more underrated, rising stars of the wine world. This included an amazing white wine by Marianne Wine Estate called Makena (2017) and a lovely red by Château des Annereaux, L’Âne Mort (2016).
Is Le Petit Ballon Worth Subscribing to?
That entirely depends on your budget and how much you love wine! If you’re partial to a glass and you love to discover new brands then I would definitely recommend signing up (even if you just trial it for 3 months).
I love the idea of having a couple of mystery bottles of wine to look forward to each month and I have every faith in Jean Michel to pick quality wines that I will enjoy. Everyone else who tried the two June bottles I received loved them and I think that the Le Petit Ballon subscription service is an ideal dinner party companion. Not only do you get two quality bottles to enjoy with friends, but you also get plenty of extra information to wow your guests with too!
How do I subscribe to Le Petit Ballon?
If you’re interested in subscribing you can sign-up for 3 months, 6 months or 12 months to trial the service. You can also buy the subscription as a gift for someone else (which would be a very generous present indeed). Simply visit their website at www.lepetitballon.co.uk and select from either the Grape Expectations package or the Age of Raisin package. It’s really straight forward to sign up and it gives you something to look forward to each month!
