Summer is fast approaching us and along with the return of the sunshine there are plenty of opportunities for alfresco dining and summer festivals. So, if you want to make sure that you’re making the most of those upcoming warm weekends we recommend getting a few of these foodie dates into your diary…

28th July: Smoked & Uncut Festival at The Pig at Combe 

What is it? Spend the day in the company of the rolling Devon hills, with like-minded music lovers and foodie feasters.

29 July: South Molton Summer Food Festival

What is it? A summer Food Festival at South Molton Pannier Market.

11 August: The Great British Gin Festival

What is it? The UK’s biggest Gin Festival tour is coming to Exeter in August 2018

18 August: Devon Fire & Spice Festival

What is it? A great weekend for barbecue enthusiasts, chilli heads and spice lovers.

1 September: Exeter Rum Festival

What is it? Experience and taste a more diverse selection of rum than you can imagine.

1st September: Nourish Festival, Bovey Tracey

What is it? Bovey Tracey’s festival of music, craft and food

2nd September: Clovelly Lobster and Crab Festival

What is it?  Clovelly celebrates its famous lobsters and crabs sustainably caught by its fishermen.

7th, 8th & 9th September: Topsham Beer and Bacon Festival

What is it? Hosted by The Pig & Pallet this three day event promises the finest beer and bacon, as well as live music and tastings.

8th September: Ashburton Food & Drink Festival

What is it? A one day food festival that promises plenty of local food and a day filled with family entertainment

16th – 17th September: Plymouth Seafood Festival

What is it?  Plymouth Seafood Festival is back for its 7th year in a row, bringing The Barbican and Sutton Harbour alive with entertainment and local seafood dishes

22nd – 23rd September: The Great Food & Drink Show

What is it? A weekend packed full of all things food and drink, from wine tasting to cooking demonstrations and cake decorating workshops.

24 September: Taste of the Teign

What is it? A festival celebrating local food around the Teign Estuary.

6th – 7th October: Powderham Food Festival

What is it? One of Devon’s largest and most popular food festivals. Set in the grounds of the historic Powderham Castle, this event will feature over 150 producers, demonstrations from a line-up of the region’s best culinary talents and a range of masterclasses at both the Exeter Cookery School Theatre and the Theatre of Fire and Smoke.
