Dalwood Vineyard was first planted back in 2009/2010 by a small group of local villagers with an ambition to produce great English wines. Since then, the Devonshire vineyard has gained quite the local reputation and continues to produce some of the finest wines in the region.
Dalwood offer visitors the opportunity to take part in regular tours of their vineyard and we were lucky enough to be invited along to one such tour last month, alongside the fantastic team from The Pig Hotel in nearby Honiton.

Dalwood Vineyard is an idyllic place, set amongst rolling hills and lush green countryside.
During our tour we were given the opportunity to sample Dalwood wines as we listened to Mike explain the origins of the vineyard and talk about their unique processes.
Jo kept everyone topped up throughout the evening. In this particular photo she was pouring their award-winning 2015 Sparkling Brut – which for the record is stunning.
When Dalwood first started in 2010, they planted 3,000 vines, comprising four varieties – Seyval Blanc, Madeleine Angevine, Pinot Noir and Solaris.
No standing on ceremony here. Mike’s knowledge and enthusiasm, together with his great sense of humour, made for a relaxed and educational tour.
As the sun set on a wonderful evening of wine tasting, we left Dalwood Vineyard with a better understanding, and a new found respect for the work that goes into producing a bottle of English wine.
